Description

Using the work of his theatre company, Mammalian Diving Reflex, as a case study, O’Donnell proposes that including children in as many realms as possible is not only an expression of their rights, but a way to disrupt the stark economic inequities perpetuated by the status quo. Deeply practical and wildly whimsical, With Children just might make total sense.

"Darren O'Donnell is famous for his show Haircuts by Children, in which prepubescent barbers sculpt adults dos all over the world. He's equal parts artist, Zen master, and birthday party magician."
— Carl Wilson, Toronto Life
"No other playwright working in Toronto right now has O’Donnell’s talent for synthesizing psychosocial, artistic and political random thoughts and reflections into compelling analyses … The world (not to mention the theatre world) could use more of this, if only to get us talking and debating."
The Globe and Mail
